Here for sale is my Mitsubishi GTO twin turbo, 6 speed manual, silver, 1997 P reg, 4 former keepers, 95000 showing on the odometer, mph conversion was ...> recently carried out so actual mileage is approx 62000 miles, timing belt changed at around 59000 miles. The car was first registered in the UK in August 2007. Chassis... The car sits on Tein S Tech coil springs, electronically controlled shock absorbers - the suspension has two modes - sport mode and touring mode, sport mode firms up the suspension and keeps the car stable with no body roll at all and makes it handle more responsively, and touring mode is a lot more comfy, so you can have clown hats and spinning bow ties one minute and civilised comfortable pleasant laid back motoring the next. The wheels are Evo IX 17" Enkei`s, 235/45 Dunlop Sport tyres all round with good tread. Factory red 4 pots with cross drilled and slotted discs, rear strut brace, rear 15mm H&R track+ hubcentric spacers just fitted May 9th so not shown in pics which were taken 2 weeks ago. Engine... Pre cats still in place for emmisions reasons but has 2nd decat pipe with standard exhaust which sounds perfect, the entire exhaust system is in excellent condition, Blitz SBC boost controller with 4 presets and Blitz turbo timer, induction kit, uprated fuel pressure regulator, dump valve, chrome intake Y pipe and general engine bay shiney bits, bonnet gas struts in perfect working order, I`ve never had the car on a rolling road but it`s should be running around 380-390bhp, it feels about right because I owned a Supra twin turbo with full bpu running at 400bhp and this feels like that if not quicker. Exterior... As the pictures show, the car is in fantastic all round condition inside and out free from rust on the body and the underside, exterior sees clear side repeaters, clear fron indicators, window tints, a much sought after 99 spec rear garnish with chrome badge. Interior... Clean and tidy inside, electronic memory drivers seat which moves pretty much in every direction you want at the touch of a button with electronically controlled side bolsters to nip you in, electronic climate control display fully working as can be seen in the pictures, Alpine cd head unit with ipod connection, guages include AFR, boost and Volts, Air duct removed to house the turbo timer and boost controller, white dials and starter button. All other usual stuff like power windows, air con, climate control rear heated screen, cruise control, electric folding mirrors etc all works as it should. Tax August 2012 and full MOT May 2013 Final thought... I looked at a good few GTO`s before I bought this one and I`m glad I waited because it`s a very rare MK3 twin turbo, most MK3`s are n/a`s and are usually in red, white or black so it`s also unusual to find one in Silver, this has not been repainted, it`s the original factory paint. The GTO turns heads and draws attention everywhere it goes, even sitting in traffic other motorists scan it up and down, it`s a nice smooth and civilised tourer, but switch to sport mode and get your foot down it turns into an unhinged animal that catapults you to the horizon with a broad smile on your face. Supercar looks and performance with Japanese reliability for Mondeo money! Genuine reason for sale and that is the imminent arrival of our second baby, and is likely going to result in the car not being used much at all, but having said that I`m not in any real hurry to sell, I`d much sooner sorn it and lock it up in the garage for future use as let it go for silly money, so please no daft offers and please no px`s. hi,here is my mitsi gto,it has 100,535 km on clock as its a import.its auto with overdrive.black anr red interior,which apart from front seats slightly ...> worn,but have got new leather seat covers for them,the rest ov int is in great condition.alpine cd player but standard speakers.the car starts,runs and drives perfect.only fault is that the fan belt squeels a bit on start up then shuts up.so this will need doing in due time.i will try to get a new belt b4 auction ends and will give to winning bidder as i wont have time to change it.other than that its a nice looking car and nice to drive.its also has 18 inch alloys with new tyres.and its got the quad headlight conv done to.the bodywork is in great cond apart from a very small bit ov laquer come off by the os headlight but is minor.and a light scratch on osf wing wich can be polished out.its mot till dec,n taxed till july.not much more can say but any questions or info please call jon on 07974200411.cash on collection.goodluck..thanks.there is a bye now ov £900.cheers.ps,have the new fan belts,but must stress that i do not have time to fit but will go wiv the car. The engine has performed faultlessly for 15,000 since build, this engine is a true testament to Sumiyaka`s expertise. Sounds absolutely through the twin HKS exhaust system, turns heads without being horribly loud. The handling is absolutely spot on, no knocks and bangs (thanks to the rebush) and the Teins work amazingly well. 　 Exterior has some marks and scratches, as to be expected for the age of the car, the worst being a scuff on the rear bumper - would be sorted for £100 or so. The paintwork polishes up extremely well, and there is no rust on any of the arches, or anywhere come to that. This car has wanted for nothing, over £20k (receipts to prove!) has been spent getting this GTO to perform like it does! 1,400–1,710 kilograms (3,100–3,800 lb) The Mitsubishi GTO is a sports car built by Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors between 1990 and 2001, although in most export markets it was rebadged as a Mitsubishi 3000GT. It was also sold by Chrysler in North America as a Dodge Stealth captive import from the 1991 to 1996 model years with only minor detail/appearance differences. Following the successful showing of the Mitsubishi HSR concept car at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show,[1] Mitsubishi developed the new GTO as a technologically advanced sports coupe to compete with the Honda NSX, Mazda RX-7, Nissan 300ZX, Skyline GT-R, and the Toyota Supra. They resurrected the GTO name, and the car went on to serve as Mitsubishi’s flagship for the remainder of the decade. However, despite the cachet of the badge at home, it was known as the Mitsubishi 3000GT outside Japan; the company was concerned that connoisseurs would object to the evocative nameplate from the highly regarded Ferrari 250 GTO and Pontiac GTO being used on a Japanese vehicle. However, regardless of its badge or eventual target market, every car was built on the same production line at Mitsubishi's plant in Nagoya, Japan.[2]
A Dodge Stealth was initially to be used as a pace car for the 1991 Indianapolis 500 race. The United Auto Workers (UAW), however, did not like the idea of a Japanese-manufactured car being a pace car for the race, and a prototype Dodge Viper was substituted.[3]

The first generation incorporated many of Mitsubishi's contemporary performance-enhancing technologies, such as full time four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, active aerodynamics featuring automatically-adjusting front and rear spoilers, sport/tour exhaust modes and electronically controlled suspension (ECS).[4] Visually, the cars featured pop-up headlights and noticeable "caps" on the hood to accommodate the ECS controllers at the top of the strut turrets. Second generation models are identified by a revised front bumper to accommodate projector beam headlights and small, round projector fog lights. The caps on the hood were replaced with integrated blisters, and the side air vents and rear bumpers were modified. The interior was redesigned with dual air bags, a new audio system, and revised air conditioning refrigerant. The engines in all models received a slight boost in torque from 307 lb·ft (416 N·m) to 315 lb·ft (427 N·m). To complement this, the VR-4 now included a six-speed Getrag manual transmission. Bigger wheel/tire combinations were provided beginning in 1995. The base and SL model received 16" wheels in silver or chrome with 225/55 tires, while the VR4 now had 18" chrome wheels with 245/40 tires (the Spyder had the standard 17" with higher profile tires from 1994 to handle the additional 400 lb (180 kg)).
As the price of the cars increased, many of the "gadgets" on the car were discontinued. The tunable exhaust was phased out after model year 1994, the ECS disappeared after the 1995 model year, and the active aerodynamics disappeared after 1996. Finally, Chrysler ceased sales of the Dodge Stealth captive import, and for the remainder of its life only Mitsubishi-badged versions were available.
In 1995 and 1996, special edition retractable hardtop convertible models of the 3000GT SL and VR-4 were sold in the USA. Customized by ASC in California, these cars had retractable hardtops which could be opened or closed at the touch of a button. It was the first of its kind in America since the 1957–59 Ford Skyliner, and although it was abandoned after two years because of slow sales (1618 units), it presaged a market which would eventually mature the following year with the Mercedes SLK. The SOHC 12v engine, previously only available in the base model Stealth, was added to the Mitsubishi range after the Dodge version was discontinued. Slower sales in the American sports car market led to a planned facelift for 1997 being abandoned in favor of minor cosmetic adjustments, including a new front bumper and hoop wing. In 1999 the car received a partial exterior makeover, including new front bumper, headlamps, turn signals, sail panels, and a large wing for the 1999 VR-4 to distinguish it from previous models. Production for the Japanese domestic market finally ceased in 2000, with the last two cars sold the following year.[5] Model name

The Dodge Stealth was mechanically identical. Base and midrange 3000GT models got a twin-cam, 24-valve 3.0-liter V6, rated at 222 horsepower. The flagship VR-4 had 4-wheel steering, permanent 4-wheel drive, and a twin-turbo engine with dual intercoolers that made 300 horsepower. The VR-4 came only with 5-speed manual shift, but others might have an electronic 4-speed automatic transmission. A driver-side airbag was standard. Four-wheel disc brakes were standard across the board, and antilock braking was standard on the SL and VR-4 (optional on base coupe). Superstreet formula for cars above 200bhp and fast road use. This material is a Kevlar® fibre based brake compound enhanced with ceramic particles. If you have previously tried EBC redstuff (pre-ceramic compound) this material is light years ahead. It lasts longer, it brakes better and is quieter. Being a hard wearing pad, bed-in times can be as long as 1000 miles and drivers must be patient until the pad takes up the shape of their disc (brake rotor). This is a truly impressive fast road pad for repeated heavy braking. EBC BRAKE PADS - EBC V4 GREENSTUFF BRAKE PADS -
Designed for fast road driving offering better braking up to 600°C (1100°F). EBC Greenstuff has a high initial brake effect and gives drivers confidence from first application of the brake pedal. There is no such thing as a NO DUST pad. The very nature of how a brake works requires that some dust be generated to avoid rotor vibration (shimmying). The EBC pad creates less dust and dust is more easily washed off than most. All pads create more dust as they are bedding in especially if rotors are worn. Nominal friction coefficient 0.55. For heavier faster cars and vehicles above 200bhp we strongly recommend Redstuff which DOES offer much less dust. EBC BRAKE PADS - EBC YELLOWSTUFF BRAKE PADS -

Although a full race material and capable of high temperature use with very good wear life, this new formulation sets a new trend in race type brake pad compounds that can be used on the highway. The "bite" from cold is superb which is uncommon with race materials (normally requiring warm-up) and makes this a pad which can be safely used on both street and track. This new formulation has been used by numerous championship race and rally drivers and is truly a milestone in brake pad material development.
