Mitsubishi IX for sale

07 EVO 9 IX FQ340 620bhp 2.3 STROKER CARBON CUSTOM ORANGE RESPRAY
.
Immaculate car with thousands spent!! 12 months Tax...
| Hi all and thanks for taking a look at my Evo IX FQ340. | Up for sale due to the fact that I just don’t use it as much as I’d like due to work,...>
family etc and it’s sat gathering dust in the garage! | This is a seriously unique, professionally and extensively modified example with many thousands spent on it to get it to this level of spec. I have had all the work carried out to my exacting standards during my ownership. I bought the car brand-new from Gordon Lamb Mitsubishi in 2007 and it’s currently showing just 21,100 miles (and I doubt this will rise given the weather!) | Despite the low miles, this car has received only the best care, with a partial ralliart service history, as well as further intermediate services and inspections by specialists and much more to list, all proven with a fully-documented history folder. | Everything on this car is spec’d to the highest level, with no corners cut during any stage, but while taking a different route to the norm to achieve my desired results (as apposed to the usual AMS kit etc) | As an added bonus, the car was featured in the March 2010 edition of Redline magazine. The folks from Redline travelled up to shoot the car and had nothing but good comments for her, and commented how impressive the torque figure was. | For the build, I chose a local Japanese tuning specialist, Autosaurus to undertake the work and they have done themselves proud; this car performs faultlessly. The engine spec is as follows: | * Tomei 2.3 stroker kit (86x100mm) using forged rods, H-section rods and Tomei crank | * Autosaurus extensively worked cylinder head to increase flow | * GSC S1 cams | * ARP head stud kit | * ARP main bearing cap stud kit | * ND heavy duty valve springs | * ND titanium valve spring retainer caps | * Tomei 1.8mm MLS head gasket for 8.8:1 compression ratio | * Tomei racing oil scraper sump baffle | * ACL race main bearings | * ACL heavy duty thrust bearings | * Power Enterprise Kevlar timing belt | * Rear balance shaft deleted and front shaft modified to remove weights | * KTS magnetic sump plug | * Standard inlet manifold ported and port matched | * Shearer exhaust manifold | * AET GT35R turbo | * APS 100mm core Intercooler | * Tial wastegate (re-circ) and BOV | * NR Hard Pipe Kit | * MLS exhaust manifold gasket | * Blitz Nur spec exhaust system | * HKS mushroom filter | * NR Autosport 100mm inlet pipe | * Thermotec turbo blanket and exhaust wrap | * Sard 1000cc injectors | * AEM fuel rail modified for twin feed | * 2x Walbro external 255lph fuel pumps | * Custom fuel system including hand-made 5ltr Autosaurus surge tank in boot | * Autronic SM4 ECU – Mapped by Matt at T.R.L in Halifax to a high standard. (Originally fitted by NR Autosport) | * Blitz Dual SBC Spec S Electronic Boost Controller | * NR Autosport battery re-location kit (in boot) | With much more to add, you can imagine the cost of such a build and as I said before, not a penny has been wasted on the build of the engine. | The end product is a safe, reliable and useable 619.2bhp and 560lb.ft torque at 2.0bar boost on Shell V-Power. Safe to say it is a complete weapon, even when the boost is turned down. | To handle the power, the transmission has been fitted with a HKS GD-Pro twin-plate clutch which gives a light pedal feel and manageable bite making driving through built-up areas and getting stuck in traffic a little less of a nightmare compared to other clutches. | One of the first and best improvements I had fitted to the car is the superb Tein SuperStreet coilovers and Whiteline ARB’s which have only added to the incredible handling of this car, and its ability to change direction is nothing short of mind blowing! | The brakes have proven to be effective even at this level of power, but just to be on the safe side I had the pads changed to Ferodo DS2500 pads, the fluid changed to DOT 5.1. | The wheels are Team Dynamics Pro-Race 1.2 in gloss black. 18x8.5” all round. Fitted with 245/40x18” Falken FK452 tyres all with plenty of tread left (I very much doubt these have seen even 800 miles since being fitted!) | Now we move on to the exterior; this is where I have (once-again) spent a small fortune getting it to look how I wanted. | * Knight Racer Carbon Bonnet | * Knight Racer Carbon Bootlid | * Carbon Fibre Vortex Generator | * Carbon Fibre Wing Mirror Covers | * VERY comprehensive, professional respray by PB Customs in a custom mix of H.O.K orange with a custom layer of pearl thrown in. | The paint job cost an absolute fortune (as I’m sure you can imagine) but it was worth every penny. As you can see from the pics it really does look incredible but trust me it looks even more impressive in the flesh! | The paint work is in excellent condition with very few, tiny marks caused by regular driving. | The car also features a Kenwood flip-out LCD screen, head unit featuring sat-nav, iPod connection etc and there Is also a small sub in the boot. The interior is otherwise standard with the ralliart, half leather/alcantara Recaros, and of course the interior is in immaculate condition. | I’m sure that I have missed plenty, and should I think of anything else I will be sure to add it as soon as possible. | The car has recently had a full detail and paint correction by PB Customs to ensure the paint is at its best. The car will receive a comprehensive detail and valet prior to sale to ensure it is in its best condition for its new owner. | This car wants for nothing, always ran on V-Power, religiously maintained regardless of cost. The MOT expires in September 2012 and the Tax expires in January 2012. Depending on final sale price, I could be persuaded to renew the tax for the new owner by negotiation. | Anyhow on that note I shall let the photos do the talking. Should you have any questions then please feel free to ask, however due to a busy period with me with work my friend has agreed to oversee the sale for me; his number is 07854 969301, his name is Matt. You can contact me on 07515 353576 but as stated I may not be able to answer! | Please note: I am not looking for any sort of part exchange, so please do not offer. I am open to offers but please keep it sensible, silly offers will be strictly ignored | PRICING: well where do I start? I have seen such a fluctuation in evo pricing in the current market, given the one-off (and VERY expensive) respray, all the carbon panels, the engine build etc I feel that my asking price is well justified, but as stated I am open to serious offers... Please contact either myself or Matt to discuss pricing further. | You are bidding to buy, not to come kick tyres and haggle. The winning bid is the price to be paid. Payments by BACs Payment/Bankers Draft/Cheque welcome but please note that all funds must be cleared before collection can be arranged. | £250 DEPOSIT TO BE LEFT THROUGH PAYPAL. THIS DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED TO TIME WASTERS!! | Viewings are welcome and encouraged, but by prior arrangement only, please contact me to arrange viewing. Test drives will be permitted at my discretion only and only if you can produce proof of fully-comprehensive insurance that covers you to drive the car. | Thanks for reading and best of luck should you decide to bid! | X

With a 2.0-liter intercooler-turbocharged engine powering all four wheels through an electronically controlled 4WD system, Evolution IX raises all dynamic performance parameters to a new level. Tax inclusive prices range from 2,940,000 yen to 3,570,000 yen. Evolution IX marks the 12th model in the series, which has also included an automatic transmission model, since the Lancer Evolution debuted in October 1992. Major features distinguishing the latest model include the adoption of Mitsubishi's proprietary MIVEC*1 variable valve timing technology in the intake system and improvements to the turbocharger that result in higher torque and produce better response for improved engine performance across its full rev range. New front and rear bumpers bring both high aerodynamics and cooling performance.Evolution IX is offered in three trim levels. The flagship GSR grade features Mitsubishi Motors' cutting-edge ACD*2 + Super AYC*3 + Sports ABS*4 electronically controlled all-wheel control component system and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The motorsport-specification RS uses a special lightweight body, a new titanium-magnesium turbocharger, 5-speed gearbox and ACD + mechanical rear LSD all-wheel control. New for Evolution IX is the GT grade that brings together RS's turbocharger and drivetrain specification and GSR's comfort-bias body with its enhanced sound deadening. Allowing owners to customize their Evolution IX's to individual needs and preferences, a comprehensive range of factory- and dealer-fitted options as well as Ralliart tuning and dress up parts are available.I . Product features1. ExteriorIn an integral molding, the new front bumper houses an oversize mesh grille to raise engine cooling efficiency and also locates the Mitsubishi 3-diamond emblem. All unnecessary openings on the undersurface of the bumper have been closed off to reduce air resistance. The new rear bumper features a diffuser undersurface in a distinctive design that shapes the corners to stabilize air flow detachment and reduce drag and that adds to Evolution's sedan-racer looks. The rear wing assembly uses molded vertical components color-keyed to the body and a carbon-fiber hollow spoiler that lowers the center of gravity. Dark-clear extensions on headlamps and rear lamps enhance the car's premium appearance. GSR and GT trim levels run on Enkei 17x8JJ lightweight 5-double-spoke alloy road wheels that are 0.15 kg per wheel lighter than those fitted to Evolution VIII MR. Evolution IX is available with a new air dam extension and rear wing Gurney flap (dealer options) that further improve aero efficiency. These advanced aero devices improve high-speed handling and stability by reducing front and rear wheel lift and enhancing the front-rear aero balance. 2. InteriorDashboard ornamentation on GSR and GT models is clear coated with a rich carbon-like finish. GSR and GT models use new alloy accelerator, brake and clutch pedals designed for sport driving as well as to accent the sedan-racer look to the cockpit. GSR uses Recaro bucket seats. The squab facing uses non-slip Alcantara suede upholstery that keeps the occupant fresh and comfortable even on longer journeys while the side bolster facings are covered in genuine leather making the seats easier to get in and out of and also adding a touch of choice luxury to the interior. GSR is equipped with a carbon shifter panel embellished with the Lancer Evolution logo. GSR and GT models use a high-density dash silencer and double-sealing weatherstrips that reduce interior noise levels. 3. Engine & transmissionFor Evolution IX the 4G63 engine gains Mitsubishi's MIVEC variable valve timing technology that improves top-end output as well as fuel efficiency. MIVEC technology allows GSR to return 10.0 km/l in the Japanese 10-15 mode driving cycle, equivalent to a three percent improvement in mileage. On GSR, the turbocharger uses a lengthened diffuser to generate more low-end and mid-range torque (400 N-m(40.8 kg-m)/3000rpm) as well as bring a significant improvement in response (average 5%) across the full rev range. On the RS and GT, the turbocharger compressor wheel uses magnesium alloy instead of aluminum alloy. This brings a dramatic improvement in supercharging response. Mated to a 5-speed gearbox with higher torque capacity, the engine has been tuned to generate maximum torque of 407 N-m(41.5 kg-m)/3000rpm. The 5-speed transmission used on the RS and GT derives from the close-ratio competition gearbox but has a revised top gear ratio for improved high-speed cruising. 4. Other featuresNew rear springs lower vehicle height slightly, improving rear end stability (GSR and GT) and allowing the Super AYC to operate more effectively and improve steering response (GSR). Features retained on Evolution IX include: Evolution's well-proven lightweight and high rigidity body featuring the aluminum roof panel pioneered on Evolution VIII MR (all grades); jointly-developed Bilstein hi-response shock absorbers (GSR and GT); Mitsubishi's ACD + Super AYC + Sports ABS electronically controlled all-wheel control system (GSR); and Brembo ventilated disc brakes (GSR and GT). *1: Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system*2: ACD (Active Center Differential) The ACD incorporates an electronically controlled hydraulic multi-plate clutch. An ECU optimizes clutch cover clamp load for different driving conditions, regulating the differential limiting action between free and locked states. The result is improved steering response together with better traction. ACD provides three modes ? Tarmac / Gravel / Snow ? to enable quicker control response for changes in road surface. A single ECU provides integrated management of both ACD and Super AYC components.*3: Super AYC (Active Yaw Control) Mitsubishi's Active Yaw Control system uses a torque-transfer mechanism in the rear differential. Under ECU control, the system operates to raise cornering performance by transferring torque between the rear wheels as dictated by driving conditions and so control the yaw moment acting on the car body. In an evolutionary step, switching from the use of a bevel to a planetary gear differential gave Super AYC the ability to transfer almost twice the torque between the rear wheels. As well as reducing understeer further, it delivers LSD-level traction. The use of a single ECU to integrally manage Super AYC with the ACD results in a synergism that makes both components operate more effectively than if they were under independent control.*4: Sport ABS braking The system ECU uses information from a steering angle sensor that detects steering inputs as well as from lateral G and vehicle speed sensors to apportion pressure to each of the four wheels independently. The result is improved steering response under braking. Mitsubishi's Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) system, integral with Sports ABS, optimizes allocation of braking force between the front and rear wheels. Increasing the pressure applied to the rear wheels when braking close to the limit, EBD reduces the load on the front wheels to realize better anti-fade performance. The system also compensates for changes in surface and vehicle load conditions to ensure predictable and consistent stopping performance at all times. It's the Yankee Stadium of the sport compact performance-car world, a place where legends were born.Located a half hour southeast of Nagoya, the massive facility is where every Mitsubishi Evolution since the 1993 Evo II has been developed, where five generations of Lancer sedans have become seven of the world's all-time greatest street cars. And it's there — hidden behind a huge wall of rock, cement and tall, lush trees — where the new, more powerful 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX was waiting for us.Two actually. Mitsu had a blue 2006 Evo IX and a silver 2006 Evo IX MR for us to drive. Both U.S. spec. The RS (the stripper/no-frills version) will still be offered, but was not made available to us.This fall, the IX will replace the Evolution VIII, which was the first Evo sold in the U.S. But the IX is not an all-new car, which is what the Evo X is promised to be. Instead, it's a mechanical and aesthetic face-lift of the VIII. And it's really well done.New LookFirst of all, the car looks better. The headlights and taillights have been smoked dark and the split grille, which was always a bit too Pontiac for our taste, has been replaced with one large opening like Mitsubishi had on the Evo VII.Underneath the front bumper are larger, reshaped openings that more tightly surround the huge front-mounted intercooler and two small circular air scoops, which direct air to the intake plumbing to cool the intake charge. The cars we sampled were also equipped with a front air dam extension that will be packaged in the accessories catalog with a Gurney Flap for the trailing edge of the rear spoiler.Better AeroHiroshi Fujii, the platform manager for the Evo in Mitsubishi's research and development department, tells us the air dam extension enhances front downforce by expanding a lower pressure area under the car, and the Gurney Flap improves rear downforce. The result, according to "Dr. Evo," which is what they call him, is greater high-speed stability, driving linearity, steering response, yaw damping and steering feedback. We confirmed this on a huge oval track with ridiculously steep banking, where we played Jeff Gordon and Little "E" at over 135 mph and experienced none of that dreaded aero push those boys are always complaining about. At that speed you can actually feel the centrifugal force pulling the blood out of your brain, and most passengers were ready to hurl after just a lap or two. But the IX was so locked in, even when running up next to the guardrail, that it could be driven with one hand. The last of the exterior changes are new double-spoke Enkei wheels, which are 5 ounces lighter than the very lightweight rims they replace. The BBS wheels on the MR version are unchanged.More PowerWith some revisions, Dr. Evo and his team of evil engineers squeezed another 10 horsepower and 3 pound-feet of torque from the Evo's 2.0-liter double-overhead-cam four-cylinder. Total output is up to 286 hp at 6,500 rpm and 289 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm. Those revisions are a larger turbo, which reduces lag by 5 percent, new spark plugs with longer threads that help cool combustion chamber temperatures, a timing belt now made of rubber and nylon fiber for added strength and durability, a new magnesium center cover and a reshaped oil ring that the good doctor says will reduce oil consumption by 10 percent.MIVEC, or Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing and lift Electronic Control, has also been added to the mix. It's Mitsubishi's variable valve timing system, and it has improved the midrange torque of the 4G63 engine. Its 7,000-rpm redline is unchanged.Shorter GearingTo make use of the engine's flatter torque curve, the five-speed in the RS and straight IX has been given tighter ratios. The six-speed in the MR is unchanged, as are the suspension, brakes and all-wheel-drive system on all three models.Sadly, so is the 5,500-rpm rev limiter in first gear, which is active only if the car isn't moving. Mitsubishi says this is to protect the front pinion shaft in American market cars, which are 100 pounds heavier to meet U.S. crash standards and fitted with stickier tires than European or Japanese market Evos.Although the engine and transmission mods may improve acceleration times, the real benefits are better around-town drivability and more yank accelerating out of slow second-gear corners. On the proving grounds road course, which included two hairpins, a 110-mph straightaway and a jump, the blue IX felt a bit quicker pulling out of the hairpins than the silver MR.Nicer InteriorOnly real Evoheads will notice this stuff, but the Momo steering wheel now has dark titanium spokes instead of silver, the seats are covered in suedelike Alcantara with leather side bolsters and the IX and MR, but not the RS, get aluminum pedals and a carbon-fiber-style instrument panel. We Want OneThe Evo was already the greatest performance-car buy on the market, with starting prices of $28,504 for the RS, $31,274 for the straight VIII and $35,274 for the MR. The revised 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX is better and should cost just $500 more across the board. Make ours a black MR with a Gurney Flap. Its on youtube. ilanmontreal 2 months ago There is no way an Evo stock has a 12.6 1/4mile ET thats way too good... Doesnt make sense with a 5.8 0-100kmh... Inline 6 rules 10 months ago It was tested by a German magazine. Kakihara 10 months ago no way a stock evo 9 is doing 0-200km/h in 20.7s on a flat road with no helping wind I'm far from it and I did 0-100km/h in 5,615s on a perfectly flat and well maintained military airport with all the wind information I could get so I dare say that this 20.7s is bull I did 21.5s fyi my shifting may not be the best but to loose 1.2s between a good 0-100 & 200km/h I doubt it BumRush 2 years ago torque is 289lb ft. thought ide let ya no. Anonymous 2 years ago does anybody know the Coefficent Drag of this??? Anonymous 2 years ago Scuse me, slower. Anonymous 2 years ago The 0-60mph is 4.9, so why would 62mph or 100kmh be .9 seconds faster?? Axlll1 2 years ago 0-100: 5,7s Anonymous 2 years ago Evo IX has 286bhp! Costner 2 years ago YES MAN BEST OF THE BEST... MOTORTREND 2 years ago This car with six-speed manual gearbox is called EVO IX MR in US. This EVO IX MR (US spec) propelled by the same 286-horsepower engine as the IX GSR but with a six-speed manual and a Bilstein suspension. And on Reno-Fernley Raceway, it is 2:34.363. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0801_mitsubishi_lancer_evolution_comparison/conclusion.html The 5th paragraph, EVO IX MR get 2:34.363. MOTORTREND 2 years ago For Reno-Fernley Raceway: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0801_mitsubishi_l ancer_evolution_comparison/index.html MotorTrend said: we brought along an Evo IX GSR (more commonly known as the straight IX or just IX) on the 7th line of the second paragraph. There is no so called GSR in US, this is exact the EVO IX. Kakihara 2 years ago I wanted to know if my 2nd hand car (stock) was okay so I did a single run : 5,61s 0-100kph; 21.71s 0-200kph; 13,76s 1/4 mile; 0-160kph 13.157s I know it's not official times it's just to show that your numbers looks okay.
