MITSUBISHI DELICA 2.8TD 4X4 AUTOMATIC CAMPER CONVERSION For sale is my delica van, converted for camping for 1 person (comfortably). I have owned it for ...> over 3 years and it has been a great vehicle - surprisingly good off road and in the snow (I never got stuck), it has selectable 4 wheel drive with low range and diff lock. It starts straight away every time, and despite its high mileage I have had no engine trouble of any kind in the last 3 years. I have spent a lot of money on it smartening it up and replacing worn parts, a full list of which is shown below, and am frankly reluctant to sell it but have just bought a bigger camper so it has to go. There are a few things on it that don`t work (also listed below) and it has some minor marks and dents typical of a vehicle of this age. I have included the major ones in the photos. The floor space in the back is plenty long enough to lie out comfortably to sleep on a matress (I`m 6ft) and the shelving and cupboards in the back hold everything you would need for a decent trip. The boxes shown on the upper shelving are included in the sale but their contents are not, and neither are the water containers, the fire extinguisher, fuel can or any other loose items visible in the pictures. The awning seen in the photos is not included in the sale either. I have all of the original seats for the back and these are obviously included in the sale. The car drove absolutely flawless. It was a pleasure to drive. MOT - 30th Sept 2012 TAX - 31st March 2012 Mileage - only 105k miles Some service history. Car has been serviced regularly by local mechanic. These engines are bulletproof exactly same as in 2.8 td Pajeros and have cam chain (so cambelt hassle free). Starts on the button even in coldest temperatures first time every time. Drives superb. Long MOT and TAX, Twin battery, All 5 new tyres recently, Thule roof bars, Genuine Mitsi Bullbars, Central locking, Cd Player, Air condition that works (rare), Overdrive option, A/T mode, All electric windows and mirrors, Rear heater controls as well Clean inside and out, Non-smoker, no pets, nice, clean and looked after interior, Recently serviced, had new oil and filters, new discs and pads, new tyres, new heater plugs, Engine sounds great, no knocks or strange noise (only 104k miles which is nothing for these engines) Spot on suspension, No knocks or whine, Gearbox is perfect, 4x4 works smooth, Very spacious and very comfy for a long journeys, 8 seats. Middle seat swivels 360 degrees. You can make L-shape sofa or sit Face-to-Face. Seats also fold the way to make a bed. These Delicas are hard to get now and there are only a few advertised round the internet. These are very versatile vehicles with 8 seats and 4x4 transmission, can be converted into proper camper vans and used as small van or family MPV, great in the snow and mud. Mileage is genuine. I have 4 previous MOT certificates. The only down side is a small dent on the bottom of sliding door, Rear wiper does not work ( could be just fuse), A few days ago both indicators stopped working and hazard lights as well. I was told it is faulty Relay, it’s cheap and easy to get done. I was told £30 by a local mechanic. I’m too busy and just don’t have time to get it done and it doesn’t bother me at all. People carrier The Mitsubishi Delica is a range of trucks and multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) built by Mitsubishi Motors since 1968. It was originally based on a small pickup truck introduced the previous year, also called the Delica, its name derived from the English "DELIvery CAr".[1] This truck, and a commercial van derived from it has received many names in export markets, being sold as the L300 in Europe, Express in Australia, and plain Mitsubishi Van and Wagon in the US. The passenger car versions were known as Delica Star Wagon from 1979 until the 1994 introduction of the Delica Space Gear. The most recent version (not available as a commercial vehicle) is called the Delica D:5. In Japan, commercial Delica Cargos were simply badge-engineered Mazda Bongos between November 1999 and 2010. T120: 1.4 L (1,378 cc) I4 4G41 The production of the Delica light commercial cab-over pickup began in 1968, with chassis code T100. Using a KE44 1,088 cc engine producing 58 PS (43 kW; 57 hp), its maximum payload was 600 kg (1,323 lb) and had a top end speed of 115 km/h (71 mph). A year later, in line with consumer needs, a cargo van and a passenger van were added to the lineup. The passenger van, discontinued in 1976, was called the 'Delica Coach' and could seat nine people in three rows of seats.
In March 1971 a slightly facelifted version, called the Delica 75, arrived. This (the T120) received a small grille rather than the naked metal front of the earliest Delicas, and a new 86 hp 1.4 liter 4G41 Neptune engine (also seen in the Galant FTO) was added to the lineup.
After a fall 1974 facelift, the Delica 1400 received a new nose with lots of plastic cladding and double headlights. A longer wheelbase version (T121) was added in 1976.

A four-wheel drive option was made available in 1982, a first in the Japanese van market. Passenger versions continued to be sold as Delica Star Wagons.
Although the subsequent L400 Delica and Delica Space Gear were introduced in 1994, the Star Wagon still remained in production in 2007.[6].
A large range of engines were available, from a 1.4 liter petrol up to a 2.5 liter turbodiesel. Rear- or four-wheel drive, several bodystyles and two wheelbases made for a particularly extensive lineup. The four-wheel drive chassis was based on that of the contemporary Mitsubishi Pajero, although parts are seldom interchangeable.
From 1987 until 1990, Mitsubishi sold this model in small numbers in the USA as the "Wagon" for passenger versions and "Van" for windowless cargo versions.[7] The US versions all received a 107 hp (80 kW) version of the 2.4 litre 4G64 engine. The fourth generation is based on the chassis of the Mitsubishi Pajero and has full off road capabilities, with four-wheel drive, high and low ratio gears and differential locking. It has engine variations from 2.5 litres through to a 2.8 L intercooled turbodiesel. A 2.4 L and a 3.0 L V6 petrol engine with 12 or 24 valves, each with 4 gears and overdrive. Apart from the 2.8 L diesel model they are available as a two or a four wheel drive version.
Body specifications range from XR, XG, Exceed, Super Exceed and Royal Exceed, and both long and short wheelbase versions were available.

In 1996/1997 the Delica Space Gear was upgraded with a facelift model. The upgrade is mostly cosmetic with changes to the lighting clusters and front bodypanel, with the integration of a moulded bumper in place of the original three section bullbar. The engine was upgraded with an electronic control type distribution type jet pump and an electronic sidestep was made standard on the higher specification versions. INVECS-III On October 30, 2006 Mitsubishi Motors announced that the next generation of its monobox minivan would be called the Delica D:5, based on the Concept D-5 prototype first exhibited at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show in 2005.[10] It is an eight-seater, that features Mitsubishi's AWC four wheel drive system and an INVECS-III continuously variable transmission, coupled to a 4B12 2.4 L MIVEC straight-4 engine. Based on a new global GS platform, new Delica features Mitsubishi's next-generation RISE safety body.
It was released in Japan on January 31, 2007, with prices ranging from ¥2,614,500 to ¥3,412,500.[11] [edit] Production Year
